Facebook Clone using Drupal

Can’t seem to escape the Facebook phenomenon, even though I don’t seem to have a particular liking for this online social networking website? But my views hold no meaning when confronted with actual stats. With over 11.5 million users and counting Facebook has dominated the online space by spreading its tentacles throughout the world. Facebook has truly lived up to its mission of making the world an open and connected place. It seems everyone is now on Facebook and I am sure there will soon come a time when the word ‘Facebook’ will find place in reputed English dictionaries. Since the entire world now seems to be on Facebook, I would not like to put my arguments against the ills of it and rather come straight to the topic of this article. Facebook has without a doubt been a phenomenon and all of the success has been achieved minus much of advertisement costs but through the sheer power of viral advertising only. With a success formula as big as Facebook there are people vying to replicate the success. There are many websites on the internet which are not just modeled on Facebook but cloning its every feature. Facebook clones have sprung up throughout the world wide web however the success of the same cannot be determined overnight and reaching the heights of Facebook seems virtually impossible. Popular Facebook clones available today include: Facebook Clone – http://webscripts.softpedia.com/script/Portal-Systems/Facebook-Clone-43017.html Kootali – http://www.agriya.com/products-kootali/ KickWork – Considered one of the best replications of Facebook, Kick Work stands out and is closest to the look and feel of Facebook. http://www.kickwork.com/mainhome StudiVZ – http://www.studivz.net/ Germany’s largest social networking website StudiVZ ran into rough weathers when Facebook filed a suit against the former. After prlonged legal battle both parties withdrew their claims in an undisclosed out-of-court settlement. http://eu.techcrunch.com/2009/09/10/facebook-and-studivz-end-legal-dispute/ Unlike human cloning we are sure the Facebook cloning is here to stay. How far it goes and how big any of these Facebook Clones can actually get is something only time can tell. Nightmares for Facebook, or is it?

  3. One of the benefits of shopping online is that it helps consumer saves time. This suits the current lifestyle of most people who are rather busy and have difficulty finding time doing all their shopping at physical stores. With online shopping, they can cut down on their traveling time. Furthermore, if the product they want is not available in the physical store, they need to go to another store to find it.
